Frequently Asked Questions

Can I turn up on the day or do I need to book in?

We prefer you to contact us prior to your first class. We will discuss your postnatal recovery and let you know how to book in for classes.

What if I've booked in for a class but can't attend?

That's absolutely fine, we completely understand that things change last minute. We will not charge you unless you attend the class. However, if you know that you won't be attending and have the chance to let us know, we greatly appreciate it.

Can I bring my toddler?

We welcome babies & toddlers of all ages. Please be mindful of your toddler if they are active as there will be babies on play mats in the room. We suggest bringing toys/snacks to entertain them during the class.

Can I bring 2 or more kids?

Yes, you can bring multiple babies & toddlers. As previously mentioned, please be mindful of your children's behaviour and we suggest bringing toys/snacks to entertain them during the class.

What are flexi start times?

Flexi start times are designed to take the pressure off being on time. As a mum we wouldn't want you to miss out if you need to fit in with your baby's routine or something unplanned happens at the last minute. You can arrive any time within the first 45 minutes of the class time and work out for 45 minutes.

How will I know when my workout is over?

Your workout session runs for 45 minutes regardless of your arrival time (if it's within the first 45 minutes of class start time). Sign in with your name and arrival time and Kristel will let you know when you've completed 45 minutes. Your workout will always include a warm up, full body workout, core & pelvic floor concluding with a stretch.

Can I bring my pram?

Yes, the hall is on street level and you can enter via the side gate with your pram. There is space in the hall to have your pram nearby during class.

Can I let my mothers group know?

Absolutely! We encourage you to come along with your mothers group as we aim to create a fun & friendly environment. We've found that when friends attend together it helps with motivation and the social interactions allow you to gain a lot more from the class. There are also lots of cafes along Ormond Rd so it's a great opportunity to have a coffee together after the session.

Do you have limited numbers?

There is a maximum class limit so we do request notice if you're planning on attending. We will notify you if the class is full.

Can I attend without bub?

Yes, you're more than welcome to attend with or without your baby.

What is the youngest my baby can be?

We suggest starting your classes from approx. 10 weeks postnatal depending on your birth and recovery. Contact us to discuss further.

What if I had a C-Section?

We suggest starting your classes from approx. 10 weeks postnatal depending on your recovery.  Contact us to discuss further.

What if I have Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation)?

We suggest starting your classes from approx. 10 weeks postnatal depending on severity. Abdominal separation is a fairly common postnatal condition and as a postnatal fitness program all exercises are considered safe. Contact us to discuss further.

I'm not fit, will I be able to keep up?

Classes are designed to suit all fitness levels and can be modified as needed. We welcome everyone!

What if my baby needs a feed mid-class?

This is where the flexi start time supports you and your babies needs. You're welcome to stop your session and feed as needed, join back in and stay on so you still complete your full 45 minute workout. If you've arrived in the final 45 minutes you may miss a small section of the class but of course feed your baby as needed.

Do I need a medical clearance letter to commence classes?

No, we trust your word and will discuss any concerns surrounding your birth and recovery prior to your first class. However, if you have a serious condition that may cause you not to exercise and you've been cleared by your doctor, we will require notice from your doctor in writing.

My baby can crawl/walk, is it safe?

Yes, the hall is a nice open space with no dangerous items in reach. We can close the doors as needed to keep crawlers and walkers contained.

What if my baby cries?

No problem, it's completely natural and normal. Everyone is accepting of babies behaviours. We create a supportive environment for everyone to be able to come along and enjoy the workout.

What type of workouts are involved?

The workouts vary from week to week including full body work, hand weights, boxing, strength, cardio, core, pelvic floor finishing with a stretch. The exercises are designed to give you a complete workout with different levels of intensity and variations offered to suit all abilities.

Are babies incorporated in the workout?

They are not used in the exercises as part of the workout. If your baby is unsettled or needs extra attention, you're more than welcome to hold them and the exercises can be modified to suit you.

Can I attend pregnant?

We don't currently offer prenatal classes but stay tuned and let us know if you're interested as we may in the future.
